In August of 2009, on a street in Bakersfield, Calif., a young, skinny border collie with his ears one up one down, was picked up by animal control. Days later, after sitting in an overcrowded shelter, he was given an execution date that would end his life short of one year.
But thanks to the efforts of an animal rescue, that stray border collie bypassed his execution date and provided immeasurable joy and love to our family for 13 years, and inspired a coffee brand.
