Costa Rica Finca Sabanilla, Red Honey
I’m excited to be offering another coffee from the wonderful Las Lajas Micromill, this time a red honey process coffee (instead of a full natural process). (Blog note about honey process coming soon!)
As a red honey, this coffee offers a bit more balance than a natural process might. It has been described as, “very sweet with balanced tart acidity and a syrupy mouthfeel; intense chocolate and cherry flavor with lemon, salted caramel and bubble gum.” So far in my daily cup I’m finding the fruit notes are subtle, letting the quintessential Central American chocolate notes headline to a dark cherry supporting act, with just enough lemon citrus acidity.
This is the only time this coffee will be available this year.
